In 1980, Ambani dropped his MBA program to help his father to build the Reliance company. He set up the Reliance Information Limited, which focused on information and communication technology initiatives. At present, it is known as ‘Reliance Communication Limited’, after the division of business between two brothers.
In 2006, he started a super-market chain, reliance Fresh. Now, it has more than 700 stores throughout India. After two years, his company bought a cricket team, Mumbai Indians in the IPL franchise, worth $111.9 million. Recently, his company launched Jio network, which is creating a buzz in India and launched its own 4G smartphone brand named LYF.
