Antara Dev Sen is a British -Indian journalist and writer, who started her career from Hindustan Times as a senior editor and has written a red cross reports which involved traveling to terrorist territories.

Born on 1963, Belfast, Uk, she is now working as a managing trustee of Practice, which is a trust working for different sectors such as education and health.

Antara was born in the educated family. Her father, Amartya is the Novel Prize winner of economics and her mother, Nabaneeta Dev Sen is a novelist. She has two sisters named Nandana Sen and Indrani Sen and has one brother Kabir Sen.

She joined completed her higher education in India and went abroad for her degree. She joined Smith College, United State and completed her education at Harvard University.

She is married to Pratik Kanjilal, who is a leading columnist associated with the Indian Express.

Antara Dev Sen’s Career

After completing her education, she joined The Hindustan Times as a senior editor and has worked with Ananda Bazaar Patrika group situated in Kolkata. During the period, she went to Oxford University on mutual support from the Reuters Foundation.

Returning back to India, she started The Little Magazine and started publishing articles on representing the South Asia, where she was literary critics, newspaper columnist, and a commentator on the media, politics, society, culture and development.

She is also a senior editor of the Indian Express and has edited different books including TLM short stories from South Asia series. Also, she has prepared reports on the south Asian Tsunami and Indian general election of 2004. She has written a book, The Eternal Magic in 2000.
