Jaya Bachchan is an Indian film actress and a Politician by profession. She is also the wife of India’s most famous actor Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. She was born on 9th of April 1948 in Jabalpur, India. She has two children of her own Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan-Nanda.

Jaya’s Career

Jaya Bachchan started her career as an actor at an early age of 15 with a supporting role in Satyajit Ray’s Bengali film, Mahanagar. However, she had priorly appeared in two Bengali short movies  “Dhanni Meye” and “Suman” which were both released in the year 1972. Some of her best movies are “Uphaar”, “Kosish”. “Kora Kagaz” and so on. These movies weren’t only popular but they also helped her to launch her career and also get some of the notable awards in Bollywood history. Some of the awards she has collected in her career include Fim fare Awards, International Indian Film Academy Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Anandalok Award, Padma Shri Award and so on. She is also a gold medalist from Film and Television Institute of India.

Apart from her involvement in Bollywood, she has also indulged herself in politics as she was elected as the member of parliament from Samajwadi Party back in the year 2010. She was again re-elected in the year 2012 and is still continuing her career in politics.

 

Marriage and Family.

Jaya Bachchan was married to Amitabh Bachchan on 3rd June 1973. The couple has spent more than four decades together and their bond is still strong as it ever was. The couple has given birth to two children Abhishek and Shweta. Aishwarya rai is Jaya’s daughter-in-law and they have good relation with each other.
