He then later tied the knot for the second time with Kareena Kapoor, one of the hottest actresses of Bollywood.

On a forthright interview some years ago, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh discussed about the start of the journey of their love story. Well, they met for the first time on the set of a Rahul Ruwali’s film which starred Saif and Kajol on the leading roles. Right from the first sight he laid on her, the young Saif had his heartbeat skipped which made him feel some kind of bond forming with the actress.

Just after a couple of days later, with so much of courage he managed to summon, Saif asked Amrita out for a dinner. For his disappointment, she first said that she didn’t do out for dinner. Her second line made Saif very happy right when he was ready to digest her refusal. She said, “I don’t do out for dinners but you can come over to my place for dinner.”

Saif Ali Khan was almost 12 years younger than Amrita Singh, the bitter fact that led disapproval at the initial phase in Saif’s parents regarding their relationship. But the young “Nawab” stood firm with his decision. Later in October of the year 1991, they secretly married each other. Amrita converted her religion to Islam, the news that stormed the movie industry.

They have two children, daighter Sara Ali Khan and son Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Like every marriage, they were in a very good marital relationship as well as experiencing some downs. They stayed together for almost thirteen years until they divorced in the year 2004.

Amrita said that it was Saif’s unfaithfulness towards her that triggered their divorce. Saif was having an affair with Rosa Catalano, an Italian dancer. On the other hand, Saif thinks it was just the “falling out of love” that resulted in their divorce.

In most of the marriages, lives move on and things get better for both husband and wives after divorce. But for Amrita, it was a different case at least at the beginning of post-divorce stage. Amrita fully dedicated her life to look after her children. But later she was back in the industry looking for roles to maintain a good lifestyle for her children. Lately, she was featured in Tiger Shroff starring movie, A flying Jatt, playing the role of his mother.

Saif, on the other had, was dating Kareena Kapoor who was just out of the relationship with Shahid Kapoor. Later they moved a step further and started living together, a taboo still existing in the modern day societies. Subsequently, they got married on 16th October 2012 in court.

Both the actors are enjoying their separate lives having different lifestyles and identities and seem quite happy about it. Their kids Sara and Ibrahim who often are seen hanging out with their parents are really close to them.

In other news, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan recently were blessed with a baby boy, who they named Taimur Ali Khan.
